Niagara Nationals win season opener on Luthart’s no hitter

Sparked by a sharp pitching performance, the Niagara Nationals opened up their fifth season by shutting out the Clarence Red Raiders 9-0 Wednesday.

Trevor Luthart from Medina threw a complete game no-hitter. He struck out 11 and walked 4.

Mitchell Holtz from Akron and Brian Fry from Medina led the offensive attack by going 3-3 with 2 RBI each. One of Holtz’s hits was a double. Hunter Briggs from Starpoint chipped in with a double and 2 RBI.
