Nationals bow in East-West quarterfinals
Avenging an earlier round loss, the Hayner Academy Barnstormers defeated the Niagara Nationals 12-3 today in the quarterfinal round of the East-West Battle baseball tournament being held in Central New York.
The Nationals stayed close at 4-3 by bunching 3 of their 4 hits into a three-run fourth inning on a double by Chris Goyette and singles by Dave Belsito and Sam Murphy.
The Barnstormers later put a lock on the win by erupting for 8 runs in the seventh inning.
