Narrow win for Albion U17 booters

One lone first half goal proved to be just enough to earn Albion’s U17 girls team a 1-0 win over visiting Genesee Valley Monday evening in a Rochester District Soccer League game.

Ally Page scored the lone goal, off an assist from Nicole Eldred, as Albion improves to 3-0.

Ellen Narburgh earned the shutout in goal for Albion whose defense was sparked by Shelby Restivo, Desiree Barber, Vivian Rivers, Alyce Miller and Brooke Kiefer.

Albion next hosts LeRoy at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Gananda sweeps Albion U16

Gananda nipped the visiting Albion boys U16 team 2-1 on Sunday.

Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Albion tied the game on a goal by Dakoda Henhawk only to see Gananda answer with the game winning tally. The contest was 0-0 at the half.

In a near instant replay, Gananda also edged past host Albion 2-1 on Monday evening.

This time Gananda broke away from a 0-0 half-time deadlock with a pair of goals.

Albion answered with a late goal by Noah Goudeau, off an assist from Hayden Pecoraro, but could not net the equalizer.
