Narrow losses for Hawks and Eagles

Holley and Kendall both dropped narrow home court decisions in boys basketball games today.

Alexander trimmed Holley 59-55 in a Genesee Region League game and Warsaw nipped Kendall 50-48 in a non league contest.

Nick Kramer scored 25 for Alexander which used a 17-4 third period surge to turn a narrow a 36-31 half-time lead into a 53-35 advantage at the three-quarter mark..

Holley did battle back with a big 20-6 fourth quarter scoring burst but could not pull even.

Broek Ostrom, who scored a game high 31 points, netted 16 of  them in the final period to spearhead the Hawks rally despite playing with four personal fouls.

Erik Lang added 8, Destin Kuyal 6, Mason Neale and James Tette 4 each and Joe Silpoch 2 on the day for the Hawks.

Kendall had what would have been a game winning three point shot go in an out at the buzzer as Warsaw held on for the narrow win.

Jake Sawdey scored 18 and Mason McClug 15 for Warsaw which led 38-36 after three quarters.

Zach Barrett scored 16 and Jacek Kwiatkowski 15 for Kendall which held an equally narrow 22-20 lead at the half.
