N-O vs. G-R Senior twin bill Friday at Albion
Albion will play host to the 19th annual Niagara-Orleans League vs. Genesee Region League Exceptional Senior basketball doubleheader on Friday.
The girls game will be at 5 p.m. followed by the boys contest at 6:45 p.m.
The N-O holds a 12-6 lead in the boys game series and an 11-7 edge in the girls series.
However, the G-R swept the doubleheader last year winning 64-62 in overtime in the girls game and 91-77 in the boys contest. That made it two wins in a row in the girls series for the G-R and snapped a four game N-O win streak in the boys contest.
The N-O boys squad looks to include Demetrius Gardner (Albion), Jalin Cooper and Brendan Luthart (Medina), Jacob Bruning and Noah Kindron (Roy-Hart), Mac Musall and Nate Fox (Wilson), Kyle DeVoogel and Max Weber (Newfane), Derek Holtz and Nelson Logan (Akron) and Malik Smith (Barker).
The lineup for the G-R boys squad has Patrick Bower (Holley), Erik Scharlau (Alexander), Ben Pflaumer (Elba), Ryan Moffat and Nico Zambito (Notre Dame), Ryan Douglas and Taylor Ohlson (Oakfield-Alabama), Reid Miano, Lucas Kohorst and Jamil Marble Jr. (Pembroke), Mike Donohue (Attica) and Adam Lund (Wheatland-Chili).
The G-R girls squad will have Miranda Lembcke (Lyndonville), Taylor ReQua and Lyndsay Wright (Kendall), Kylie Schlagenhauf, Makayla Hilchey, Lakin Woodward and Lauren Reding (Oakfield-Alabama), Alyssa Seilheimer and Hannah Callaghan (Wheatland-Chili), Olivia Kohorst (Pembroke), Margaret Sutherland and Natalie Thornton (Notre Dame), Dana Van Walkenburg (Byron-Bergen) and Lexi Breton and Caylin Walton (Alexander).
The roster for the N-O girls includes Caitlynn Snook and Natalie DiCureia (Albion), Paige Emborsky and Alexa Littman (Newfane), Neely Abrams (Akron), Ellie Todd (Roy-Hart), Haley Brown (Barker) and Shea Munnikhuysen (Wilson).
