N-O selects All-League girls soccer team
Five schools are represented on the first team of the annual Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer squad led by a quartet of players from champion Wilson.
Forward Addison Elia, an eighth grader who has been named N-O Player of the Year, heads Wilson’s delegation which also includes senior midfielders Leia Cloy, Rian Faery and Lily Avery. Elia, Cloy and Faery are all repeat first team selections.
Elia had 29 goals and 12 assists, Cloy 19 goals and 17 assists, Faery 9 goals and 13 assists and Avery 7 goals and 8 assists.
Runner-up Roy-Hart has placed the trio junior forward Kaitlin Mettler, junior midfielder Allie Trombley and senior defender Maddie DiNeri.
Mettler, a three-time first team honoree, had 22 goals and 8 assists and Trombley 10 goals and an assist.
Albion is represented by senior goalkeeper Abby Wittenberg and junior forward Cami London.
Wittenberg made 161 saves and had a 1.66 goals against average. London scored 10 goals.
Rounding out the first team are Akron senior defenders Maggie Middaugh and Ava Blochowitz and Newfane sophomore midfielder Stephanie Chunco who had 5 goals and 3 assists.
Three players each from Wilson and Roy-Hart head the All-League second team.
Wilson is represented by senior forward Peyton McInnis, junior defender Mackenzie Elia and sophomore defender Bella Thrush.
Roy-Hart has placed senior defender Sophia Santella, junior defender Ali Ausman and sophomore midfielder Kaylie Churchill.
Medina is represented by seniors Camryn Eick and Savannah Watts and Akron by junior midfielders Aleyna Susfolk and Ella Liss.
Rounding out the second team are Albion senior defender Alison Gibson and Newfane junior forward Anna Chunco.
