N-O runners compete in X-C sectionals

Five Niagara-Orleans League runners earned top five finishes at the Section VI cross-country championship meet at Bemis Point today.

In the boys’ competition, Wilson’s Jaydan Ruble placed second in the Class D race. His teammates Joey-Dane Jones was 8th and Barker’s Luke Fay 11th.

In the girls’ Class D race, Barker’s Emma Evans placed third and her teammate Mikala Woock 6th. Wilson’s Hayden Barlow was 5th.

In the girls’ Class C2 race, Newfane’s Kylie Bowman placed 4th and Isabella Pasquale 5th. Their teammates Jordyn Centner and Kayla Hallman placed 17th and 19th respectively. Bowman finished 10th and Pasquale 12th in the overall Class C race.

The Newfane girls placed first in the Class C2 team competition and second in the overall Class C competition.

In the girls Class C1 race, Medina’s Madeline Mark placed 16th.

The Newfane boys team finished 2nd in Class C2 and 4th in the overall Class C race.

The Barker boys and girls teams both placed 4th in Class D. The Wilson girls team placed 3rd in Class D.

The Akron boys team placed 4th and the girls 5th in the Class C2 races.

(Left) Cordelia Rivers, an eighth-grader, was the first to finish for the Albion girls team with a time of 22:31, which placed 14th and was 33rd overall in Class C. (Right) Myles Beach, an Albion sophomore, was the first runner in for Albion with a time of 19:39, which placed 34th.

(Left) Madeline Mark, a Medina freshman, placed 9th and was 16th overall in Class C at 21:12.  (Right) Ryder Jones was Medina’s first boy in with a time of 18:57, which placed 24th.

Luke Fay of Barker sprints to the finish line in today’s Class D race. He was 11th overall with a time of 17:57.
