N-O League holds Cheer competition

Five schools took part in two divisions at the annual Niagra-Orleans League Cheer competition held last evening at Akron.
Wilson won the Small Group (less than 15 cheerleaders) with Medina second, Albion third and Akron fourth. Newfane, which earned the overall Grand Champion award, was the only team in the Large group (more than 15 cheerleaders).
The first team All-League Cheer Team that was selected include Brieonna Hanes and Katelyn Beach from Albion, Alexis Jones and Alexis Hare from Medina, Danielle Robinson and Emily Wood from Akron, Gillian Hinkley and Mia McCollum from Newfane and Emma Gast and Kaelynn Gibbs from Wilson. Hinkley was named N-O Player of the Year for Cheerleading.
