N-O honors girls’ All-League basketball squad

Four schools are represented on the first team of the Niagara-Orleans All-League girls basketball squad.

Two players from undefeated (12-0) champion Wilson, Peyton McInnis and Rian Faery, both juniors, head the first team.

McInnis scored 308 points and grabbed off 185 rebounds and Faery had 271 points, 130 steals and 111 rebounds.

Completing the first team are Medina senior Rylee VanNostrand, Akron senior Sophia Jones and Newfane sophomore Anna Chunco.

VanNostrand moved into second place on the Mustangs all time single season scoring list with 421 points.

Chunco scored 204 points and Jones had 97 rebounds, 89 points and 39 steals.

Underclassmen also dominate the second team which includes Roy-Hart sophomore Kaitlin Mettler and Barker senior Mia Herman along with Albion’s Madison Hughson, Akron’s Sloan Jonathan and Wilson’s Cait Cliffe who are all juniors.

The Honorable Mention selections, listed by school, are as follows:

Albion – S’koi Sanders (Sr.)

Akron – Melanie Holtz (Sr.)and Katie Leeds (Jr.)

Medina – Stella Poler (Sr.)

Newfane – Mallory Schultz (Jr.) and Sienna Bowers (Jr.)

Roy-Hart – Alexis Cacciatore (Sr.)

Wilson – Lilah Frerichs (Sr.), Maddie Miller (Sr.) and Kaylee Allcorn (Sr.)
