N-O honors All-League volleyball squad

A trio of players from champion Akron heads the first team of the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League volleyball squad.

The Lady Tigers have placed senior outside hitters Darion Jonathan and Helena Hill, who are both repeat selections, and sophomore setter Jessee Jonathan.

Darion Jonathan had 263 spiking kills, 52 service aces and 236 digs; Hill 195 kills, 46 aces, 18 blocks and 218 digs and Jessee Jonathan 425 assists, 156 digs, 34 aces and 18 kills.

Runner-up Roy-Hart is represented by senior outside hitter Aspen Moore who also earned the N-O League’s Player of the Year honor.

Moore, who is a repeat honoree, had 430 kills, including a school record 37 vs. Akron, 133 digs and 34 aces.

Rounding out the first team are Albion’s Sierra Newton and Medina’s Maddie Williams, both senior outside hitters.

Newton led the Purple Eagles with 116 kills, 67 aces and 223 dig.

Williams had 142 kills, 52 aces and 212 digs.

Medina is represented on the second team by the junior duo of outside hitter Camri King and middle blocker Elle Gross.

Wilson also had a pair of second team honorees in senior outside hitter Jenn Myers and sophomore setter Maddy Seeley.

Completing the second team are Roy-Hart senior setter Paige Dent and Newfane senior outside hitter Faith Morgan.
