N-O honors All-League field hockey team

Champion Akron has placed three players and runners-up Barker and Medina two each on the first team of the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League field hockey squad.

Akron, which captured the N-O title with a 12-0 record, is represented by senior Olivia McClaine and sophomores Marissa Brege and Morgan Tomporowski. McClaine, who has been named N-O Player of the Year, had 11 goals and 12 assists.

Barker has placed junior Madilyn Detschner and sophomore Madeline Pavlock who had 16 goals and 3 assists.

Medina is represented by senior Iyla Lilleby and sophomore Penelope Schalck. Lilleby, a three-time first team honoree, scored a school record 33 goals and added 7 assists. Schalck, a repeat selection, had 20 goals and 8 assists.

Rounding out the first team are Roy-Hart sophomore Alayna Kowalski, Wilson senior Natalie Rossi, Newfane junior Kyra Austin and Kenmore sophomore Zoey Dettbarn.

Akron also placed a trio of players on the second team including juniors Julia Klodzinski and Ava Fox and freshman Madigan Regan.

Barker is represented by seniors Addison Szafranski and Macie May.

Medina has placed seniors Arianna Bloom and Adeline Castricone.

Completing the second team are Roy-Hart freshman Adella Dukes, Wilson senior Aubriana Cristiano, Newfane sophomore Roxy Smith and Kenmore senior Chloe Falkowski.
