N-O field hockey wins for Akron and Barker
Defending champion Akron blanked visiting Medina 3-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game this afternoon.
Mackenzie Tomporowski scored 2 goals and Julia Klodzinski 1 for the Lady Tigers as Marissa Brege made 3 saves in goal.
Akron is now 3-0 and Medina 0-1 in N-O action.
Barker 6, Kenmore 1
Breaking away from a 1-1 halftime deadlock, Barker erupted for five unanswered goals in the second half to down host Kenmore 6-1.
Madelina Pavlock had 4 goals and 2 assists and Ella Taylor 2 goals to lead the way for Barker which improves to 2-1.
The loss drops Kenmore to 0-2.
