N-O field hockey rival to meet in key contest

Akron will look to put a virtual lock on a second straight title when the Lady Tigers visit perennial rival Barker in a key Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Akron brings a perfect 7-0 record into the contest while Barker is close behind at 6-1. The Lady Tigers handed the Lady Raiders their only loss of the season to date by a 2-1 score earlier in the season at Akron.
The undefeated (12-0) Medina golf team will look to lock up the N-O championship with a high finish at the All-League tournament on Tuesday at Willowbrook. The Mustangs hold a commanding six point lead over runner-up Albion (9-3) heading into the tourney.
The Medina girls volleyball squad will look to move up[ a notch in the N-O standings as the 3-3 Mustangs host 4-2 Wilson on Monday and then visit 4-2 Roy-Hart on Wednesday.
On the gridiron the B-2 Division title will be on the line when Albion visits Dunkirk at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a key clash of unbeatens. The Purple Eagles are 4-0 in the division and 5-0 overall while the Mauraders are 3-0, 5-0.
Medina/Lyndonville will visit Alden at 7 p.m. Friday in a B-3 Division contest.
Two Saturday afternoon games will have streaking Newfane (4-1) facing Roy-Hart/Barker (1-4) at Barker and Holley (2-3) taking on Oakfield-Alabama/Elba at Elba as the Hawks seek a third straight victory.
