N-O duo earns All State softball honors
Two Niagara-Orleans League players, Medina senior pitcher Emily Kams and Akron junior catcher Abby Stone, have earned spots on the All State Class B softball squad.
Stone has been named to the second team and Kams to the sixth team.
Stone hit .564 and drove in 16 runs this spring as she helped Akron earn a share of a second straight N-O title.
Kams, who helped lead Medina to a share of its first N-O title in 12 years and its first ever Section VI championship, registered 154 strikeouts and had a 1.60 earned run average in the circle. At the plate she hit .464 and drove in 27 runs.
Elba, which captured the Section V Class D championship, has placed two players on the Class D team. Senior pitcher Carli Bogue has earned first team honors and sophomore shortstop Madison Howard is a fifth team honoree.
The Genesee Region League also had two Class C honorees as Pembroke senior pitcher Sam Tatarski has been named to the second team and Alexander senior shortstop Hannah Paolucci to the fourth team.
