Putting a lock on outright possession of a third straight C North Division championship Medina scored a 38-14 victory over Akron this evening at Vets Park.

The victory completes a 5-0 C North Division season and improves the Mustangs overall record to 7-0.

Medina took a 12-0 lead at the half on a 11 yard touchdown run by Noah Skinner and a 23 yard TD pass from quarterback Aidan Pitts to Cayden Lilleby.

Akron cut the deficit to 12-7 early in the third quarter on a 4 yard TD run by Chris Bergman and an extra point kick by Zander Borton.

Medina answered right back with a pair of touchdowns on a 10 yard run by Lilleby and a 4 yard carry by Kaden Cleveland to regain a 24-7 advantage. A 26 yard pass from Pitts to Julian Woodworth keyed the first TD drive and a big 59 yard Pitts to Cleveland pass completion down to the Akron 4 set up the second.

The Tigers did cut the deficit to 24-14 at the outset of the fourth quarter on a 9 yards TD pass from quarterback Zachary Borton to Donny Kreher and a PAT kick by Zander Borton but could get no closer.

The Mustangs finally put a lock on the victory with a pair of touchdowns on runs of 1 yard by Pitts and 61 yards by Amari Soule as Callard added point PAT kicks. Skinner had runs of 26 and 16 yards to set up the first TD.
