Mustangs top Vikings at Cataract Classic
Inproving to 3-0, Medina bested Grand Island 60-49 in the Cataract Classic this evening at Niagara Falls High School.
Nate Sherman scored 22 to lead the Mustangs as Brian Fry added 11, Vincent Montague 10, Izaiah Rhim 9, Tyler Chinn 6 and Joe Cecchini 2.
Cam Sionko had 15 and Logan Sionko 14 for Grand Island.
Leading 21-18 at the half, Medina upped its advantage to 10 early in the third period after Rhim made four free throws.
The Mustangs maintained a 14 point, 45-31, lead at the three-quarter mark as Sherman netted 10 in the period.
Sherman also tallied 9 and Fry 8 in the first half to help the Mustangs hold a three point lead.
Southwestern 46, Roy-Hart 35
Lance Krieger scored 9, Charlie Bruning and Charlie Brigham 7 and Reed Albee and Blake Halstead 6 for Roy-Hart in the non league loss at Southwestern which led 26-21 at the half.
Alexander 69, Holley 45
Alexander jumped out to a 35-18 half-time advantage in route to posting a 69-45 Genesee Region League win over Holley.
Carson Major scored 13, Matt Wilson 12 and Kohl Morgan 8 for Holley.
Akron 55, Barker 44
Akron downed visiting Barker 55-44 in the Niagara-Orleans League season opener for both teams as Jake Mazza led the Tigers with 12 points.
