Mustangs top Purple Eagles in softball

Improving to 2-1 in league action, Medina downed host Albion 18-4 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans softball contest.

Medina took a quick lead on a two-run triple by Cora Payne in the first inning.

The Mustangs then broke the game open by tallying 7 times in the second inning highlighted by a triple by Alisha Scroger.

Destiny Satkowski and Ashlee Howell both had a total of 4 hits for Medina as Scroger and Payne both had 3.  Satkowski’s hits included a pair of doubles and a fourth inning home run.

Emily Kams picked up the win in the circle for Medina allowing 1 hits with 12 strikeouts. She registered a clutch inning ending strikeout in the first as Albion stranded runners at second and third after a walk and a bunt single by Brylie Hapeman.

Albion is now 0-4 in N-O action.

Both teams will be in action agains Saturday as Albion visits Wilson at 10 a.m. and Medina travels to Roy-Hart at 1 p.m.

Wilson (1-1) blanked Barker (0-3) 10-0 as Kira Zappy registered 10 strikeouts.

Roy-Hart 17, Attica 1

Roy-Hart romped to a 17-1 non league win over Attica as Levi Lovelwell and Sam Choate combined to hurl a 3 hitter with 5 strikeouts.

Delaney Draper had 4 hits for the Lady Rams as Lovewell and Kayla Brown both added 3.  Lovewell’s hits included a a double and two triples.
