Taking over sole possession of first place, Medina romped to a 16-0 victory over host Wilson this afternoon in a key Niagara-Orleans League baseball game.

Medina improves to 6-1 while Wilson slips to 3-2 and into a tie for second place with Albion as defending champion Roy-Hart is at 2-2.

Trevor Luthart, who had a no hitter going into the fifth inning, allowed only 1 hit with 7 strikeouts over five frames. Xander Payne came on to hurl the final two innings and likewise gave up just 1 hit with 3 strikeouts.

Breaking away from a scoreless deadlock, Medina took charge by erupting for 8 runs in the fourth inning. A leadoff home run by Nate Sherman ignited that uprising which also included doubles by Luthart and Brian Fry and singles by AJ Seefeldt, Joe Cecchini and Austin Mosher.

Seefeldt, Fry and Mosher each finished with 2 hits for the Mustangs which tacked on four more runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.

The Roy-Hart vs. Barker and Albion vs. Newfane games were both postponed.
