Mustangs stickman score 10th victory
Earning victory No. 10 on the season, Medina outlasted host Silver Creek 19-13 this afternoon in the Class D Division season finale.
Jake Cotter scored 8 goals and Brendan Luthart 5 to lead the Medina attack as Mason Lewis added 3, Coby Albone 2 and Christian Silversmith 1.
Medina grabbed a 6-4 lead at the end of the opening period as Luthart, who surpassed the 100 career goal mark on the day, tallied 3, Lewis 2 and Cotter 1 in the early going.
The Mustangs maintained a 11-7 lead at the half as Cotter scored twice in the second period, and a 14-11 advantage at the three-quarter mark.
Cotter helped to lock up the win by scoring 4 goals in the final period.
Medina finishes the D Division campaign at 8-4.
