Mustangs sprinter scores sweep at N-O All-League meet

Jalin Cooper of Medina/Lyndonville won both the 100 (:11.41) and 200 (:23.44) to highlight this afternoon’s concluding session of the annual Niagara-Orleans League All-League track meet held at Roy-Hart.

The Mustangs also had Daniel Heil win the 1600 (4:36.79) and Martha Gardner capture the 1500 (5:01.46) to complete a trifecta as she also won the 800 and 3000 on Wednesday.

Albion had a quartet of winners on the day as Nate Trembley won the shot-put (46-9), Tommy Mattison the long jump (19-2 1/2), Mahogany Taylor the 100 hurdles (:16.87) and Chanyce Powell the long jump (16-9).

Host Roy-Hart had John Stoddard win the 110 hurdles (:16.28), Jon Huntington the pentathlon (2,069 points) and Kayleigh Kuzma the 400 hurdles (1:08.82). The Rams also had Eugene Bush, Austin Dodge, Avery Green and Tanner Bulmar team up to win the 3200 relay (8:40.19).

Barker had Caitlyn Mason win the pentathlon (2,399 points) and Erin Greenweald the pole vault (8-0).

Akron’s Leah Czechowski was a double winner in the 100 (:12.93) and 200 (:27.13). She also teamed up with Jenna Robnett, Alison Norton and Kara Seguin to win the 400 relay (:51.58).

The Tigers also had Mackenzie O’Brien win the 400 (1:01.490, Henry Jones the shot-put (32-9 1/2) and Ethan PeQueen the 400 hurdles (1:01.42). O’Brien also combined with Margo Henley, Maggie Leeds and Kylee Schultz to win the 3200 relay (10:02.12).

Wilson got wins from Trey Rees in the 400 (:51.12), Alex Fox in the high jump (5-8) and Amanda Murray in the high jump (4-10).

The Newfane quartet of Andrew Boudeman, Thorne Geise, Paul Dunbar and Julian Nixon won the 400 relay (:47.46).

The Akron girls topped the team standings with 155.7 points followed by Albion 94.4, Wilson 79.2, Newfane 67.2, Barker 62, Medina/Lyndonville 59.5 and Roy-Hart 36.

Wilson finished on top in the boys team standings with 101 points followed by Newfane 99, Albion 83, Medina/Lyndonville 78, Akron 74, Roy-Hart 67 and Barker 51.
