Mustangs shutout rival Purple Eagles

Scoring early and often Medina romped to a 52-0 win over rival Albion this evening on Albion’s Spierdowis Field.
Christian Moss scored 6 touchdowns to lead the attack for Medina which finishes the regular season at 7-1.
Highlighting the shutout effort for the Mustangs defensive unit were 2 interceptions by Colton Fletcher, 1 by Carter Woodworth and a fumble recovery by Avion Johnson.
Medina jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead on touchdown runs of 18 and 10 yards by Moss as Cole Callard tacked on the first two of his 7 extra point kicks.
The Mustangs advantage jumped to 31-0 at the half as Moss had touchdown runs of 56 and 1 yards and Callard a 33 yard field goal in the second quarter.
Moss, who had 329 yards rushing on the evening, added a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter on carries of 36 and 12 yards to up the Medina lead to 45-0.
Quarterback Hadrian Batista capped off the Mustangs scoring parade with a 4 yard touchdown pass to Carter Woodworth in the fourth quarter.
With the win the Mustangs also retain the Doc’s Rock Trophy which is given to the winner each year in memory of Larry “Doc” Decker who coached and taught at both schools.
Albion finishes the season at 0-8.
The meeting was the 126th in one of New York State’s oldest high school football rivalries which dates back to 1898. Albion holds a 69-52-5 lead in the series.
Franklinville/Ellicottville 35, Roy-Hart/Barker 24
Jackson West, Ireland Brady and Ronan Klug each scored a touchdown for Roy-Hart/Barker in a 35-24 loss to Franklinville/Ellicottville this evening at Barker. Tysen McCaa also had 2 two-point conversions and West 1.
