Two lightning quick touchdowns in the first 62 seconds ignited Medina to a 55-0 romp over host Tonawanda in a C North Division game this evening.

The Mustangs in fact scored on their first two plays from scrimmage as Noah Skinner broke loose for long touchdown runs of 63 and 32 yards. Cole Callard kicked the first of his five extra points after the first TD as a fumble recovery by Roosevelt Mitchell at the Warriors 32 set up the second.

Skinner, who had a total of 148 yards rushing in the opening quarter, added two more touchdown carries on runs of 1 and 19 yards in the period which finished with Medina up 26-0. Kaedon Cleveland recovered a muffed Tonawanda punt return attempt at the Warriors 40 yard line to set up the first of those touchdowns.

The Mustangs advantage soared to 41-0 at the half after second quarter touchdown runs of 20 yards by Cayden Lilleby and 6 by Amari Soule who had a big 43 yard pickup to set up that tally.

The Mustangs defensive unit held the Warriors to minus yardage in the first half.

Lilleby also scored on a 46 yard run in the third quarter and Liam Castricone on a 2 yard run in the fourth quarter to round out the Mustangs scoring parade.

Medina is now 4-0 in the division and overall while Tonawanda, which played without several suspended regulars, slips to 0-2, 1-3.

Interestingly, the Mustangs also clinched at least a tie for the C North title as Cleveland Hill upended Akron 14-8 in overtime. Akron is now 2-1 in the division.
