Mustangs romp to JV win over Steelers

The JV Mustangs put together a dominating performance on Thursday night to defeat host Lackawanna 50-8.

Tyler Chinn started the scoring for the Mustangs after picking up a fumble forced by Colby Petrie in the first quarter and racing 60 yards to the end zone. Chinn also caught the 2 point conversion pass from Emmanual Taylor as the Mustangs took an 8-0 lead and never looked back.

Jarin Rhim passed for 262 yards and 4 touchdowns with 3 of those passes going to Chinn and the other to Emmanual Taylor.

Rhim also threw two point conversion passes to Taylor and Joe Cecchini.

Chinn finished with 162 receiving yards for the game and Taylor 87.

Amir Barulich was the Mustangs leading rusher totaling 56 yards, while Jacob Golding added 52 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Bobby Geiger contributed 44 yards and a touchdown. Christian Drisdom added a two point conversion run.

The Mustangs defense was equally dominating allowing Lackawanna just 64 yards of total offense for the game.

Geiger made 6 tackles including 2 sacks and Taylor had 5 tackles and 1 sack.

Now 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the division, the JV Mustangs are next in action on Saturday, September 30th against Roy-Hart/Barker. The game will take place at Roy-Hart High School at 10 a.m.
