Mustangs romp to Homecoming victory

Scoring early and often Medina romped to a 65-0 Homecoming game victory over Springville this evening at Vets Park.

The offense, defense and special team units all contributed scores as the Mustangs roared out to a commanding 35-0 first quarter lead.

Noah Skinner scored three touchdowns on runs of 4, 5 and 37 yards during that decisive stretch which also included a 12 yard scoring pass from quarterback Aiden Pitts to Noah Cudzillo and the recovery of a blocked punt the the Springville endzone for another TD by Cudzillo. Skinner had the block of that punt attempt.

An interception by Logan Gray at the Springville 27 set up the second Medina touchdown of the wild quarter and an interception by Julian Woodworth at the Griffins 37 set up the fifth TD.

Xavier Bloom also had a fumble recovery for the Mustangs late in the quarter which set up a 25 yard TD run by Skinner on the first play of the second period.

The Mustangs added two more touchdowns on runs of 26 yards by Woodworth and 54 by Cudzillo and a safety on a blocked punt which went out of the endzone in the quarter which ended with the Mustangs up by whopping margin of 58-0 at the half.

A fumble recovery by Josh Wilson set up the second TD of the quarter. Jerrell Nealy also had a fumble recovery late in the quarter.

Neely also scored the Mustangs lone touchdown of the second half on 21 yard run in the fourth quarter. The half was played with a running clock.

Cole Callard kicked the extra point after all 9 of the Mustangs touchdowns.

Medina is now 6-0 and Springville 0-6.
