Building up a commanding 25 point half-time advantage, Medina went on to defeat host Akron 70-31 this evening to complete a perfect 12-0 Niagara-Orleans League championship season.

The N-O title was the second in a row for Medina but was the Mustangs first undefeated league campaign since the 1988-89 championship squad went 14-0.

Jalin Cooper scored 19, Johnny Salone 18 and Mason Lewis 13 to spearhead the Medina offense as Vincent Montague added 6, Tryellis Atkins, Brendan Luthart and Jorge Phillips 4 and Izaiah Rhim 2.

Salone scored 10 quick points and Lewis 6 in the opening period to spark Medina out to a 20-4 lead.

Cooper then tallied 6 and Lewis 5 in the second quarter as the Medina advantage soared to 37-12 at the half.

Medina, which finishes the regular season with a 16-4 overall record, enjoyed a 58-22 lead at the three-quarter mark.

Akron winds up the N-O season at 1-11.
