Highlighted by a marathon third inning scoring explosion, Medina went on to defeat Lockport 16-2 in a non league softball game this afternoon at Vets Park.

Leading 5-2, Medina broke the contest wide open by erupting for 11 runs in the third inning.

A grand slam home run by winning pitcher Cora Payne capped off that uprising which also included RBI singles by Brandi Guild and Lacey Kenward, a run producing sacrifice fly by Camri King and a two run error.

Trailing 1-0, the Mustangs took the lead for good by scoring three times in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double by King, an RBI single by Ashlee Howell and a fielders choice play.

Four walks then helped to plate two runs in the second inning upping the Medina lead to 5-2.

Medina is now 4-2 overall.
