Mustangs roll to win over Raiders

All 10 players contributed to the point product has Medina romped to a 63-38 win over visiting Barker in a Niagara-Orleans League game this evening.

Nate Sherman scored 17 and Christian Drisdom 10 to lead the Mustangs scoring parade as Tyler Chinn added 8, Dontae Rhim 6, David Rhim 5, Joe Cecchini, Jarin Rhim and Brian Fry 4, Matt Henning 3 and Ricky Wood 2.

Shane Gerhardt scored 11 and Hunter Callen 10 to pace the Raiders as Nicholas Guevara added 8, Joey Brandt 5 and Evan Taylor 4.

Medina jumped out to a 20-11 first quarter lead as Sherman scored 9 in the early going including a three, a three-point play and a layup.

The Mustangs then broke the game open with a 17-5 second period scoring surge to extend the lead to 21, 37-16, at the half.  Dontae Rhim, Drisdom and Chinn each scored 4 and Henning hit a 3 during that stretch.

Medina’s advantage soared to 33, 53-20, at the three-quarter mark after a 16-4 third period scoring burst. Sherman had 6 and Drisdom 4 during that run.

The Mustangs improve to 3-4 in the league with the win while the Raiders slip to 0-7.

Medina next hosts Kenmore East in a non league game on Tuesday.
