Getting back onto the winning track, Medina/Lyndonville used a pair of second half goals to blank Akron 2-0 in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this afternoon at Vets Park.

Kristian Snyder scored both goals for defending champion Medina/Lyndonville which rebounded from a 1-0 overtime loss at Newfane on Monday to improve to 3-1 in N-O action.

Snyder scored what proved to be the game winner on a penalty kick with 27:07 remaining in the second half. He then netted a big insurance goal just six minutes later a 21:52 off a corner kick by Greg Husung.

The loss drops Akron to 2-2.

Medina/Lyndonville, which is 4-1 overall, next hosts Wilson in a make-up game at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Today’s Roy-Hart at Wilson game has been rescheduled for September 21.
