Making it two narrow wins in as many weeks, Medina/Lyndonville/Barker rallied for a late touchdown to nip host Springville 28-24 this evening to improve to 2-0 in B2 Division competition.

Trailing 24-13, the Mustangs first closed the gap to just three at 24-21 on a 4 yard touchdown run and two-point conversion pass by quarterback Izaiah Rhim late in the third quarter.

The Mustangs then pulled out the victory on a 4 yard touchdown run by Rhim and an extra point kick by Matt Hess with just 1:14 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Big pass receptions of 55 and 12 yards by Brian Fry keyed that decisive drive. Fry had 7 catches for 109 yards on the evening.

The  defense then helped seal the win on an interception by Pitts at the Mustangs 10 yard line.

Earlier in the game the Mustangs scored on a 65 yard punt return by Fry in the first quarter and a 27 yard TD pass from Rhim to Pitts in the second quarter. The later tally pulled Medina to within four, 17-13, at the half.

Last week Medina nipped Depew 14-12 in the season opener.

Cattaraugus/Little Valley 20, Roy-Hart 7
Trailing 7-6 at the half, host Cattaraugus/Little Valley scored a pair of unanswered touchdowns in the second half to down Roy-Hart 20-6 in an interdivisional game. An interception ignited that rally.

Roy-Hart scored in the first half on a 1 yard touchdown run by quarterback Charlie Brigham and an extra point kick by Charlie Brigham.
