Mustangs, Purple Eagles post soccer shutouts

Co-leader Medina blanked host Newfane 5-0 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game.

The victory keeps Medina even atop the N-O standings at 5-0-1 with Wilson which downed Roy-Hart 8-0.

Cole Callard had 3 goals and Tyler Kroening and Vinny Gray 1 each for the Mustangs. Callard also had 2 assists as Cam Kenward and Aidan Papaj both had 1.

Brady Christiaansen earned the shutout in goal as the quartet of Trenton Morley, Kenward, Ryan Pegelow and Gavin Dahlhaus anchored the defense.

Albion 3, Akron 0
Albion improved to 4-2 in N-O action with a 3-0 win over Akron which slips to 1-5.

Matt Kania, Joseph Bropst and David Rosario each scored a goal for the Purple Eagles. Rosario also had 2 assists and Bropst 1.
