Mustangs, Purple Eagles bow in N-O openers

Jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first five minutes, Wilson went on to defeat Medina/Lyndonville 5-1 this evening in the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer season opener.

Keegan Hermann and Owen Cloy scored the decisive early goals for Wilson which went on to lead 3-0 at the half and 4-0 midway through the second half.

Hermann finished with two goals for the Lakemen as did Noah Kurial.

Zaric Boyce scored the Mustangs lone goal with 11 minutes to go in the second half on a rebound off an initial shot by Cole Seefeldt.

In the other opener, Newfane scored in the final second of the first 10 minute overtime period to nip host Albion 2-1.

Ty Williams scored the game winner for Newfane as Miles Czekaj netted the Panthers first goal.

Ulises Ledesma scored Albion’s goal off an assist from Corleone Plain.

The Akron at Roy-Hart game was postponed.
