Mustangs post key win over Purple Eagles

Maintaining a share of first place, Medina downed rival Albion 6-1 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this afternoon at Vets Park.

The victory keeps Medina tied for first place at 4-0-1 with Wilson which downed Akron 8-0.

Cole Callard scored 5 goals, including one on a penalty kick and one on a direct kick, to spearhead the Medina attack while Keegan Hermann and Logan Kulak each scored a pair of goals for Wilson.

Medina, which is now 6-0-1 overall,  jumped out to a quick lead as Callard scored in the first four minutes.

The Mustangs upped the advantage to 4-0 at the half as Callard scored two more goals and Vinny Gray one.

Callard rounded out the Mustangs scoring with a pair of second half goals.

Albion’s goal was scored by Noah Marat

The Purple Eagles are now 3-2 in N-O action.

In the other N-O contest, Newfane (2-3) downed Roy-Hart (0-5) 3-1.
