Mustangs, Hawks post shutout victories

A goal in each half earned Medina/Lyndonville a 2-0 victory over Akron this afternoon in the Mustangs Niagara-Orleans League opener at Vets Park.

Kristian Snyder scored what proved to be the game winner for the Mustangs with just 1:31 remaining in the first half off an assist from Vassilios Bitsas.

Garren Bayne later added an insurance tally with 21:35 remaining in the second half.

The loss drops Akron to 0-2.

Holley 5, Attica 0
Four different players contributed goals as Holley blanked host Attica 5-0 improving the Hawks Genesee Region League record to 2-0.

Andrew Cary scored Holley’s first 2 goals off assists from Cory Cacamise and John Mounts.

Goals by Derek McArthur, Bailey Schubmehl and Bryce Baxter rounded out the Hawks scoring parade.
