Mustangs have three champions crowned at Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament
Medina had a trio of champions crowned today at Lyndonville’s annual Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament.
Reece Senske won at 116, Luke Duffina at 131 and Austin Seefeldt a 160 for the Mustangs which also had Brody Fry finish second at 190.
Senske pinned Brody Shaffer from Warsaw in 1:22 in his title bout. He advanced with a 17-0 technical fall win in the quarterfinals and a pin of 4:15 in the semis.
Duffina scored an 11-0 major decision win over Blade Surowiec from Wayne in the finals. He scored quick pins of 1:17 in the quarterfinals and 1:20 in the semis to gain a spot in the title bout.
Seefeldt likewise posted a major decision win of 16-5 in his title bout over Logan Lafferty from Warsaw. He reached the finals with pins of 3:47 in the quarterfinals and 1:18 in the semis.
Fry notched three pins to reach the finals.
Albion’s Stryker Sanders went 5-0 to win the championship at 101. He registered three pins in times of 42 seconds, 53 seconds and 1 minute and also had a technical fall win and a major decision victory.
The Purple Eagles also had Jaxon Lynch place second at 145 and Noah Marat fourth at 160.
For Holley-Kendall, Will Kruger placed third at 152, Carson Cody fourth at 101, Parker Denning fourth at 131 and Brenden Eichas fourth at 124.
Host Lyndonville had Ty Holmes finish second at 124, Ben Doolan second at 170 and Shannon Withey third at 145.
