Mustangs have four Class C All-State football honorees; Hawks have 8 Man All-State QB

Four Medina players have earned spots on the Class C All State football squad.

The Mustangs quartet includes first team honoree senior lineman Roosevelt Mitchell, second team selections junior linebacker Brody Fry and sophomore running back Christian Moss and Honorable Mention pick junior place kicker Cole Callard.

Mitchell, who has accepted a scholarship to Akron University, was also a first team All-Western New York selection and a finalist for the Trench Trophy which is given to the top WNY lineman. A three year starter two-way starter he had 28 tackles and 6 sacks.

Fry, who was named the C North Division Defensive Player of the Year, had a team leading 69 tackles. On offense he rushed for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 152 yards and a TD.

Moss, who was named the C North Division Offensive Player of the Year, rushed for 1,362 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Callard, who earned All-WNY honors in both football and soccer this past fall, made 44 of 46 extra point kick attempts and made 4 field goals including a school record 47 yarder.

Medina’s All-State selections also include, from left, Brody Fry, Christian Moss and Cole Callard.

Newfane has two Class C All-State honorees as senior quarterback Nate Snow has been named to the first team and senior wide receiver Ben Dickinson to the second team.

In addition, Roy-Hart/Barker junior linebacker Dan Aquilina and Akron junior quarterback Coy Patterson have both earned third team honors.

The All State Class D squad includes Wilson senior running back Jack Mahar on the first team.

8 Man All State squad
Holley/Lyndonville junior quarterback Destin Kuyal has been named to the first team on the 8 Man All State squad.

A Section V All Star, Kuyal started at quarterback and linebacker for the Hawks. On offense he rushed for 677 yards and 10 touchdowns and passed for 546 yards and 3 TDs. On defense, he made 82 tackles including 7 for losses.

Pembroke senior running back Tyson Totten was named the 8 Man Division All-State Player of the Year.

The state champion Dragons also had linemen Jayden Bridge and Jayden Mast earn first team honors while running back Caleb Felski and linemen Jeremy Gabbey and Octavius Martin were Honorable Mention selections.
