Mustangs have 5 C North first team All-Stars
Tri-champion Medina has placed five players on the first team of the C North Division All-Star football quad.
The Mustangs quintet includes seniors Brody Fry, Cole Callard and Carter Woodworth along with juniors Christian Moss and Kolton Fletcher.
Fry has been named C North Player of the Year after being honored as Defensive Player of the Year last fall. He had a team leading 143 tackles, including 93 solos as well as 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and an interception.
Moss spearheaded the Mustangs ground attack as he rushed for 1,850 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Callard was Mr. Automatic in the kicking department for the Mustangs as he made good on 48 of 50 extra point attempts and on 6 of 7 field goals attempts with the longest being 42 yards.
Woodworth caught 12 passes for 155 yards and 4 touchdowns. On defense, he made 515 tackles and had 3 forced fumbles, 1 sack and 1 interception.
Fletcher made 60 tackles and had 4 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries. On offense, he rushed for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Mustangs also have six second team selections including senior offensive linemen Ethan Carson and Breydin McEwen-Miller, junior wide receiver Jerrell Nealy, junior defensive end Avion Johnson along with sophomore defensive backs Jayzon Wills and Preston Woodworth.
McEwen-Miller had 37 tackles and a sack and Carson 28 tackles and 2 sacks.
Nealy had 252 yards receiving an 3 touchdowns and 34 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.
Johnson had 40 tackles, a fumble recovery and a sack.
Wills had 47 tackles and a sack and on offense had 435 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns.
Woodworth had 29 tackles and 2 interceptions. The Mustangs starting quarterback had 900 yards passing and 10 touchdowns and 135 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns.
Medina’s trio of junior Frankie Stephens and sophomores Hadrian Batista and Matthew Jacobs have all earned Honorable Mention.
