Exploding for nine runs in the first two innings, Medina went on to defeat Barker 10-3 at Vets Park this afternoon to regain the .500 mark at 5-5 in Niagara-Orleans League baseball competition.

The Mustangs combined singles by Lucas Porter, Brian Fry, Justin Morgan and Brett Riemer along with four Barker errors to score five quick runs in the first inning.

Barker’s Mike Snell slides safely into third base as Medina’s Tyler Ames tries to make the tag.

Barker did score a pair of runs in the top of the second on a two-run double by Mike Snell, but Medina got those right back with interest in the home half of the frame.

A two-run triple by Alex Allis highlighted the Mustangs four-run uprising in the bottom of the second to make it 9-2.

Porter and Riemer both finished with 2 hits for the Mustangs.

Snell had 3 hits and Chauncy Mckee 2 for Barker which slips to 6-5.

Jared Zinkievich went the distance on the mound for Medina which next visits CSAT Thursday in a make-up game.
