Mustangs face busy week of makeup games

Having been snowed and or frozen out of playing two key Niagara-Orleans League games last week, the front-running Medina boys basketball squad now faces makeup contests against those foes, Albion and Newfane, this week plus a third league matchup against Roy-Hart.

Medina will host Newfane at 6:30 p.m. Monday and visit Albion at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for the makeup games. The Mustangs will also visit Roy-Hart at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a regularly scheduled N-O contest and visit Buffalo Science in a non league game Thursday.

The Mustangs at 7-0 in N-O competition, currently hold a half game lead over Wilson (7-1), a two-game edge over Newfane (5-2) and a three game bulge over Albion (4-3). Wilson will visit Albion on Tuesday and then host Newfane Friday.

The Medina girls squad will play makeup games at Newfane on Monday at 6:30 p.m.and at home against Albion on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and will also host Roy-Hart on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m..

The Lyndonville boys squad fresh from a key 52-41 win at Elba on Friday now faces another key Genesee Region League Division II contest as the Tigers visit Notre Dame at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Tigers took over sole possession of the Division II lead with the win at Elba to improve to 10-1 in the league and 15-1 overall.
