In a down to the wire thriller, Medina nipped host East Aurora 37-36 in an interdivisional game this evening to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Noah Skinner who rushed for 195 yards and 5 touchdowns, blocked an East Aurora extra point attempt with just 48 seconds to go to preserve the Mustangs narrow victory.

Trailing 15-7 at the half Medina rallied into a 29-15 lead with a big three touchdown third quarter scoring burst on Skinner TD runs of 5, 5 and 19 yards. Cole Callard had two extra point kicks and Skinner a two-point conversion carry after those scores.

The Mustangs defensive unit keyed that comeback as a fumble recovery by Ollie Wilson, after a strip sack by Breydin McEwen-Miller, set up the second score score and a Wilson fourth down sack, his third of the evening, set up the third tally.

Skinner then had what proved to be the deciding score in the fourth quarter with an 11 yard TD run and a two-point conversion carry to give the Mustangs a 37-30 lead.

The Blue Devils did rally for a touchdown in the final minute to slice the Mustangs lead to 37-36 but Skinner capped off his big night with a clutch block of the extra point kick attempt to preserve the win.

Skinner also scored the Mustangs lone first half touchdown on a 15 yard run as Callard added the extra point kick.

Medina next hosts Springville in another interdivisional game next Friday evening at 7.

Canisteo-Greenwood 50, Holley 8

Undefeated (5-0) Canisteo-Greenwood downed host Holley 50-8 this evening in an 8 Man Division game.

Vinny Golisano caught a 12 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Destin Kuyal for Holley’s score. Kuyal added the two-point conversion run. A long 64 yard Kuyal to Golisano pass completion set up the score.

Canisteo-Greenwood led 28-0 at the hlaf.

Holley is now 2-3.
