Tigers, Raiders post non league wins

Snapping a season opening two game losing streak, Medina edged past Newfane 6-5 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game under the lights at Vets Park.

Luke Porter went the distance on the mound for Medina scattering 7 hits and striking out 5.

The Mustangs scored what proved to be the game winning run in the sixth inning as Brad McPherson had his second single of the evening and came home on an error for a 6-4 lead.

Medina also scored three times in the fourth frame on a single by Tyler Ames and a rash of walks.

Making it four games in as many days, Medina next visits Barker on Friday.

Akron 7, Roy-Hart 5
Akron evened its N-O record at 1-1 by downing Roy-Hart (1-1) 7-5.

Curtis Miller picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers allowing 6 hits with 6 strikeouts in six innings of work. He also helped himself at the plate by banging out a single and an RBI double.

Brennan Murty earned the save coming on in the seventh with two runners aboard and registered the final three outs, two via strikeout.

Lyndonville 17, Northeast/Northwest 3
Lyndonville romped to a 17-3 none league win over Northeast/Northwest at Rochester.

Eddie Schildt pitched six innings for the Tigers allowing only 1 hit with 8 strikeouts.

Jacob Hoffee had a single, double and triple with 5 RBIs and Schildt 2 singles and a double with 4 RBIs to lead Lyndonville at the plate.

Eric Neace, Mike Wells, Corey Hydock and Nolan Donald each had a pair of hits for the Tigers.

Barker 15, Byron-Bergen 4
Trailing 4-2, Barker erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to key a 15-4 non league win over Elba/Byron-Bergen.

Collin Webb had a two-run double during the decisive frame for the Raiders which also included singles by Cameron Fox, Shawn Callaghan and Jake Hurtgam.

Webb had a total of 3 hits as Callaghan, Hurtgam and Mike Snell each had 2.
