Mustangs down rival Purple Eagles

Pulling away in the second half, Medina downed rival Albion 63-45 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game this evening at Albion.

The Mustangs attack was spearheaded by the duo of Jerrell Nealy and Preston Woodworth who combined for 51 points. Nealy had a big game inside with 26 points and Woodworth had the hot hand from outside with 25 including five threes.

Wesley Olles scored 16, Kyle Radder 12 and Tyler Cody 10 to lead Albion.

Leading by a narrow one point, 26-25, margin at the half Medina began to pull away by outscoring Albion 22-14 in the third period. Woodworth scored 9, including two threes and a three-point play, and Neely 7, including a three, to lead that uprising.

The Mustangs then locked up the win by outpointing the Purple Eagles 15-6 in the final period as Nealy had 6 and Woodworth 4.

In the opening half, Nealy scored 5 in the first period and 8 in the second and Woodworth 7 in the first and 5 in the second with a three in each quarter.

Olles scored 6 in the opening period for Albion while Radder netted 5 in both the first and second quarters incluiding a three in each period. Olles also netted 7 in the third period

Roy-Hart 52, Newfane 45
Roy-Hart snapped a season opening three game N-O League losing streak by downing Newfane 52-45.

Braden Ricker scored a game high 18 to lead the way for Roy-Hart as Matt Aquilina added 10, Erique Powell 9 and Dan Aquilina 8.

Ben Trotter and Miles Czekaj both scored 10, Mac Capen and Camlo Flowers 9 and Kasey Wheat 7 for Newfane.

Wilson 77, Barker 56
Aidan Neumann poured in a game high 30 to lead Wilson past Barker 77-56 as Ryan Hough added 21 and Shamus George 11.

Anthony Taliaferro scored 17, Isaac Monaco 16 and Owen Harris 10 for Barker.
