Mustangs down Raiders to hold share of N-O lead; Rams edge past Lakemen to halt skid
Maintaining a share of first place, Medina bested host Barker 71-47 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys baseball game.
Tyler Chinn scored a career high 30 points, including five threes, to spearhead the attack for Medina which improves to 6-1.
Brian Fry added 15, Christian Drisdom 9, Jarin Rhim 6, Matt Henning 3 and Joe Cecchini, Hayden Woodroe and Anthony Rutty 2 each for the Mustangs.
Fry also grabbed off 12 rebounds, Rhim 11 and Chinn 8.
Joey Brandt scored 12 and Devonte Hill 11 for Barker which slips to 1-6.
Chinn erupted for 14 points in the opening quarter to help spark Medina out to s 25-12 lead.
The Mustangs went on to hold leads of 39-28 at the half and 58-38 at the three-quarter mark. Chinn netted 6 in the second quarter and 5 in both the third and fourth periods.
Medina next hosts 4-2 Akron in a key contest on Saturday.
Roy-Hart 60, Wilson 58
Snapping a five game losing streak, Roy-Hart nipped visiting Wilson 60-58 in another N-O contest.
Aiden Petrie scored a career high 29 points to lead the way for Roy-Hart including a clutch late basket which gave the Rams a 60-55 lead.
Tom Ragonese chipped in with 12 for the Rams which improve to 2-5.
Michael Miller scored 21 and Ben Lyman 14 for Wilson which slips to 1-6.
Roy-Hart led 18-9 after the first quarter, 28-25 at the half and 49-39 at the three-quarter mark.
