Mustangs complete win over Lady Panthers

Medina put the finishing touches on a 15-0 victory over Newfane at Vets Park this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleasn League softball game that took two days to complete.

The contest began at Newfane on Friday but deteriorating field conditions caused play to be halted in the top of the fifth inning with Medina leading 3-0.

Action resumed at Medina this afternoon and the Mustangs quickly broke the contest open by erupting for five runs in the fifth highlighted by a triple by Abi Neuman.

The Mustangs then put a lock on the victory by scoring five times in the sixth as Ashlee Howell had a double and winning pitcher Lacey Kenward a triple.

In the circle, Kenward hurled a two hitter with 9 strikeouts.

Medina is now 2-0 and Newfane 0-1 in N-O action.

The Mustangs next host defending champion Roy-Hart at 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Lyndonville 28, Barker 3
In a non league game today, Lyndonville defeated Barker 28-3.

Megan Krisher had a home run and a double, Gracie Johnson a home run, Stacy Buckland and Chloe Stinson triples and Anna Lewis and Natalie Ostrowski doubles for the Lady Tigers. Krisher, Johnson, Buckland and Lewis each finished with three hits.
