Mustangs celebrate winning N-O soccer title

Contributed Photo – Compiling a 9-1 record, Medina/Lyndonville this past week captured the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer championship for the first time since 2014. Medina/Lyndonville and Roy-Hart ended the league finale with identical 8-1 records but the Mustangs emerged with the title by posting a 2-0 victory over the Rams to avenge an earlier season 3-1 loss. Medina/Lyndonville brings a program best ever 14-2 regular season record into the Section VI Class B1 playoffs which begin this coming week. Seeded No. 3, the Mustangs will host the winner of the No. 6 Lackawanna vs. No. 11 I Prep game in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Vets Park.
