A big four goal first half scoring burst keyed Medina to a 5-1 victory over Akron in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this evening at Vets Park.
Cole Callard gave Medina a quick 1-0 lead when he scored just four minutes in.
Akron did pull even seven minutes later on a goal by Cole Fleming but the Tigers could not find the net again.
Medina answered back nine minutes later on a header by Jason Beyer off a corner kick by Alex Benz to regain the lead for good.
Vinny Gray and Benz followed up with goals to put the Mustangs in commanding by a 4-1 margin at the half.
Gray also netted the Mustangs lone second half goal.
Improving to 2-0 in the league and 3-0 overall, Medina next visits CCA for a non league game on Tuesday. The Mustangs will then host Wilson in an N-O contest at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Medina girls will face Wilson in the first game of that doubleheader at 4:45 p.m.
Akron is 0-2, 1-2 overall.
