Mustangs 16U wins Gehrig tourney opener
The Medina Mustangs 16U Travel team downed the Stingers Gray 11-1 Thursday evening in a Lou Gehrig Iron Horse Classic Tournament game.
Medina scored 3 quick runs in the first inning on an error, 2 walks and singles by Ryan Pegelow and Tyler Kroening.
The Mustangs tacked on 2 runs in the second on a fielders choice play and a wild pitch. A rash of walks later helped to plate 4 runs in the fifth frame.
Lukas Grimes pitched 4 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 6. Brody Fry hurled one inning giving up no hits and fanning 3.
