Closing out the dual match portion of the Niagara-Orleans League wrestling season on a high note, Medina bested host Roy-Hart/Barker 45-40 this evening.

Medina jumped out to a 15-0 lead at the outset on pins by Colby Petrie (132) and Miles Hartway (145) sandwiched around a decision win by Noah Skinner (138).

Roy-Hart though answered back with a major decision win by Colby Hancock (152) followed by first period pins by AJ Schafer (160) and Zach Hill (170) to rally into a 16-15 lead.

A second period pin by Karson Grover (195), which offset a Medina forfeit win at 182, then regained the lead for the Rams for what proved to be the last time at 22-21.

The Mustangs countered with back-to-back second period pins by Chase Weese (220) and Robert Morehouse (285) to regain the lead for good at 33-22.

That lead held up as the final five bouts were all forfeits with the Rams taking three and the Mustangs two, making for the final five point Medina victory.

Medina finishes the dual match portion of the N-O season at 2-3 and Roy-Hart/Barker 0-5.

The annual N-O All-League meet will be held Saturday at Albion beginning at 9 a.m.
