Seeded No. 9, Medina will visit No. 8 Lew-Port at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the pre quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class C lacrosse playoffs.

The two teams split a pair of regular season meetings. The Lancers won the first meeting 15-12 at Vets Park and the Mustangs took the re-match 13-4 at Lew-Port.

The Medina attack is spearheaded by Kyle Barna who has scored 61 goals, Tyler Valley with 41 and Brett Pecoraro with 28.

“We would have liked to play somebody different that we hadn’t already played twice but overall I think it’s a good matchup for us,” said Medina Coach Gordy Luthart.

The winner will visit the top seed (either Akron or Salamanca) in the quarterfinals next Tuesday. The top seed will be determined by today’s Salamanca vs. East Aurora game.

Medina went 1-8 in the Class C Division and 7-9 overall during the regular season.

Friday’s other pre quarterfinal round contest will have No. 10 Wilson at No. 7 Gowanda.
