Erupting for 10 goals in the second quarter, Medina went on to defeat host Wilson 18-5 this afternoon in a Class D Division lacrosse game.

Leading by a narrow 4-3 margin at the end of the first period, Medina outscored Wilson 10-2 in the decisive second quarter to open up a commanding 14-5 advantage at the half.

Mason Lewis and Brendan Luthart both scored 3 goals during that stretch as Christian Silversmith and Ian Joseph both netted 2.

Lewis and Luthart both finished with a total of 5 goals, Silversmith and Joseph 2 and Zach Blount, Tim Roy, DaRon Bellan and Cooper Fearby 1 each.

Medina, which improves to 4-2 in the division and 5-4 overall, next visits Iroquois at 3 p.m. Saturday in a non league game.

The loss drops Wilson to 0-4 in the division.
