Mustang stickmen romp past Lakemen

A lightning quick goal in the first six seconds ignited Medina to a 20-3 romp over Wilson in a Section VI Class D Division lacrosse game at Vets Park this afternoon.

Brendan Luthart netted the fast opening goal for Medina which showed no ill effects from a 20 day layoff as the Mustangs quickly built the advantage to a commanding 10-0 margin before the opening period ended.

Luthart and Christian Silversmith both had a total of 3 goals in the opening period as Zach Blount and Mason Lewis each netted 2.

Keeping the momentum, the Mustangs boosted the lead to 17-0 at the half as DaRon Bellan scored 2 goals in the second period as Silversmith, Lewis, Luthart, Chaise Prest and Tim Roy each tallied 1.

Medina held a 19-0 lead at the three-quarter mark after third period tallies by Luthart and Lewis.

Ian Joseph netted Medina’s lone fourth period goal..

Luthart finished with a total of 5 goals as Lewis and Silversmith both had 4, Blount and Bellan 2 and Roy, Prest and Joseph 1.

Now at 2-0 in the division and 2-1 overall, Medina next visits Akron on Thursday.
